December 2025

Peace On Earth

December is the season of lights, gatherings, and celebrations a time when community and connection come alive. Streets sparkle, tables fill, and we’re reminded of our shared humanity in the warmth of tradition and togetherness.

But alongside the joy often comes pressure: the rush to get it all done, the weight of expectations, financial strains and worries, and the overstimulation of bright lights, noise, and endless to-do lists and of course when our Christmas or family doesn’t look quite like the staged shit we see on faceache and on telly shit really does feel heavy.

Peace on Earth starts with peace within and that means finding gentle ways to ground ourselves, soothe the nervous system, and step back from the noise.

This month we’ll focus on simple practices that celebrate connection without overwhelm. Rituals that remind us we are part of something bigger, while still honouring our own need for rest. Small pauses of calm in the middle of the bustle  love notes of peace, written one moment at a time.

Spiritual Days Of The Month and Gentle Activities

  • Winter Solstice (Yule) – Sunday 21st December
The longest night and the turning point where light begins to return. Sunrise across England will be approximately 8:05 am — whether you’re in the north or the south. Bundle up, get outside, and watch the first light. Let it be both a quiet greeting to the returning sun and a gesture of peace within yourself.
  • Christmas Day – Thursday 25th December
Beyond the rush and giving, let this day be about deep connection. Take a quiet moment before the celebrations to place a drop of frankincense oil in your palms, breathe it in, and silently offer gratitude for the day no matter how that looks to you.
  • New Year’s Eve – Wednesday 31st December
A threshold between endings and beginnings so they say anyway….

Moon dates

Your Lunar Wisdom – December

Full Moon – Friday 5th December, 2025 (Gemini)
The Gemini full moon shines a light on communication, community, and connection. It reminds us that peace often begins with how we speak to ourselves and each other. Under this bright, busy moon, we may feel scattered or overstimulated but it’s also a chance to pause, breathe, and speak words of kindness.
Ritual: Write down three messages of peace  one for yourself, one for your close circle, and one for the wider world. Read them aloud under the moonlight, letting your words carry on the night air. Keep them in your journal or place them by your bedside as nightly reminders.

New Moon – Friday 19th December, 2025 (Sagittarius)
The Sagittarius new moon brings a sense of adventure, possibility, and expansion. It asks us to look at the bigger picture to imagine a more peaceful future for ourselves and our communities, without the pressure of needing to do it all at once. It’s about planting seeds of joy and connection that can grow in the months ahead.
Ritual: Sit in a quiet space, light a single candle, and write a list of five ways you could bring more peace into your daily life. Keep them small, tangible, and loving (a daily breath pause, a weekly digital detox, sharing food with neighbours). Place your list somewhere visible, and let it guide your December.

Monthly ritual or release

Ritual & Release – Elemental Peace with Frankincense

December can feel like too much too loud, too fast, too demanding. This ritual brings you back to elemental balance, grounding you in peace and connection. Frankincense is at the heart, its sacred smoke or oil linking body and spirit, earth and sky.

You’ll need:

  • A few drops of Frankincense essential oil (in your diffuser, in a bowl of warm water, or rubbed gently between your palms)
  • A candle
  • A quiet space where you won’t be disturbed

Ritual:

  1. Earth (Terra): Sit with your feet flat on the ground. Take three deep breaths, imagining roots growing from your soles into the earth. Whisper: I am held.
  2. Water (Aqua): Place your hands over your heart. Notice the natural flow of your breath, like a tide. Whisper: I am fluid.
  3. Fire (Ignis): Light your candle and focus on its flame. Feel its spark inside you a small, steady energy that can never be taken. Whisper: I am alight.
  4. Air (Aria): Inhale the Frankincense whether diffused, rising from steam, or cupped from your hands. Notice how it clears and opens your breath. Whisper: I am clear.

Sit in this elemental peace for as long as feels right. When you’re ready, journal one small way you can invite more balance into your week  a love note to yourself, written in the language of peace.

Botanical Sound Seed

Returning to Your Own Frequency

This month’s sound work is all about clearing the noise and tuning back into your own inner rhythm. The 852 Hz Solfeggio tone carries a bright, crystalline energy, it helps sweep away the mental fog that gathers when life gets loud.

Each morning when you wake, play the 2 minute recording before you reach for your phone or move into the day. Let it be your reset, a gentle vibration that reminds every part of you where calm lives.

You don’t need to do anything to make it work. Just breathe, listen, and let the sound realign you. It’s a daily invitation to return to your own frequency before the world starts asking for pieces of you.

Feel free to repeat through out the day when needed during times of disconnection, stress or trauma.

Experience to try Peace Offering Bundle

To close the year with Peace on Earth, we turn this theme into something you can hold, gift, or hang as a blessing.

Take a small square of natural cloth (cotton, muslin, or a scrap of  an old scarf you love). Place inside a pinch of salt for purification, a fresh sprig of rosemary as an evergreen sign of remembrance and protection, and a single drop of frankincense to call in calm and spiritual connection. Gather the corners together and tie with string or ribbon to create a tiny bundle.

You can:

  • Gift it to a friend, neighbour, or loved one as a token of peace.
  • Hang it near your doorway to welcome harmony into your home.
  • Carry it with you through December as a reminder to pause and soften.

As you tie the bundle, say this blessing aloud:

“With salt I purify, with rosemary I protect, with frankincense I call in peace. May this bundle hold calm for me and for all the world.”

We would love to see how you get on, so get carving your space, schedule your joy send some pics, you might feature on next month's Root & Renew!
